Kinship Farms are very excited to be participating in the Carbon Eight regenerative agriculture pilot program named the ‘Carbon8’s Regenerative Journey Community of Practice’.
Navigating the path of regeneration is different for every farmer and Carbon8 understand this can feel overwhelming when trying to decide where to start or what to do next. Farming is more than just principles, practices and measurements. It is a deeper understanding of how we connect as stewards of the land.
Over the years, Carbon8 have been working with farmers at every stage of transition and what they have heard time and time again is that despite the number of fantastic courses available to learn about the principles of regenerative agriculture, farmers struggle to find support in implementing that knowledge once they’re back on farm.
This is what grew the idea for Carbon8 to launch – Carbon8’s Regenerative Journey Community of Practice – to support farmers at every stage of their regenerative journey through connection and community. This program is designed to provide a space for farmers to come and collaborate on their learnings, frustrations and successes as well as receive ongoing support and guidance from their trained and experienced facilitators.
35 farmers across Australia have joined up to be part of this pilot program which speaks volumes to the necessity of such a collaborative space and how effectively the Carbon8 team hear and understand what farmers need. As a trusted collaborator, Carbon8 empower Aussie farmers to implement their regenerative journey. All like-minded people within the farming community want to leave the land in better condition than when we arrived. Carbon8, guide, educate and support these Aussie farmers for the long run.
This ensures ongoing engagement, retention and transition to a regenerative agriculture journey.
The primary value to a farmer on this path is soil improvement. This shows up as increased profitability and improved farm resilience. It also protects our unique biodiversity and increases the nutrient density in our food, while decreasing the risk of drought, flooding and desertification. One farm at a time…
Carbon8 are a non-for-profit registered charity funded by donations – go along to their website and get involved. The donations they secure are directly relevant to the number of farmers they are able to help. Our farmers cannot do this without groups like Carbon8 and our future cannot do without our farmers.
A fantastic organisation which Kinship Farms is truly empowered and inspired to be collaborating with in the Carbon8’s Regenerative Journey Community of Practice. Keep an eye out for more insight and feedback on how the program went with follow up posts.
